Hyperhidrosis And Its Available Treatments

Hyperhidrosis is excessive sweating in individuals which makes them sweat heavily even without any cause. General sweating is different because it occurs with a reason to cool down the body specially under certain circumstances like heat exposure, workout etc.

The sweating associated with Hyperhidrosis can be triggered without any reason. It happens due to the over-activity of sweat glands.

Types of Hyperhidrosis

There are two types of Hyperhidrosis - Primary and secondary

Primary Hyperhidrosis usually affects underarms, face, feet and hands. The primary focal Hyperhidrosis treatment can include a combination of medications and treatments.

Secondary Hyperhidrosis is caused due to some underlying condition that you already have. It can be diabetes, obesity or an autoimmune disorder. The excessive sweating treatment in this case usually involved the detection of underlying problem and followed by its cure.

Other causes can include certain emotional or sensory responses which can cause excessive sweating in individuals.

Hyperhidrosis Treatment

Luckily there are several excessive sweating treatments available for this particular condition. One of the most common treatment for mild cases can include applying a nonprescription, over-the-counter, clinical strength antiperspirant prescribed by a doctor.

Another treatment is Iontophoresis treatment. In this procedure a battery-powered device is used to deliver a low intensity current to the feet or hands and sometimes the armpits through water-saturated wool pads. This treatment prevents sweat from coming to the surface. Though it is safe but considerably less effective.

Another popular treatment is Botox. This treatment temporarily blocks the nerves that actually triggers the sweat glands. This is a very effective treatment which is the reason behind its high popularity.

With all these available options, it has become easy to get rid of Hyperhidrosis and lead a confident life.
